Project Description

Likha Events is a small event planning and decorating business specializing in floral arrangements and balloon installations for celebrations and intimate gatherings. The goal of this project was to establish a cohesive and professional brand foundation that could grow with the business while remaining approachable and personable.

I collaborated closely with the founder to develop a complete visual identity system, including a logo, wordmark, and comprehensive brand guidelines. The brand needed to feel subtle, friendly, and elegant—reflecting the warmth of handcrafted event décor while still presenting a polished, trustworthy image. In addition to the core brand assets, I supported the creation of business cards and provided creative direction for social media content to ensure consistency across touchpoints.

Goals & Constraints

Goals

  • Create a clear and cohesive brand identity from the ground up

  • Balance elegance with approachability to reflect the brand’s personality

  • Visually communicate Likha Events’ focus on event planning and décor, particularly florals and balloons

  • Develop assets that could be easily reused and expanded as the business grows

Constraints

  • Extremely tight budget, limiting production scope and complexity

  • A four-day timeline to concept, design, and finalize all deliverables

  • The need to prioritize versatility and simplicity over highly customized or resource-heavy solutions

Strategy

To work efficiently within the constraints, I focused on building a strong foundational system rather than overly decorative elements. I selected accessible, legible typefaces that conveyed softness and elegance while remaining practical for both print and digital use. The logo and wordmark were designed to be clean and adaptable, allowing them to sit comfortably across business cards, social media, and future marketing materials.

Visual decisions were informed by Likha Events’ core services—floral arrangements and balloon décor—through subtle curves, balanced spacing, and a refined yet friendly tone rather than literal illustrations. The brand guidelines were intentionally concise and clear, enabling the client to confidently apply the identity on their own moving forward.

Given the tight timeline, close collaboration and rapid iteration were key. Frequent check-ins helped align creative direction early, reducing revisions and ensuring efficient execution within four days.

Key Takeaways

  • Strong brand foundations don’t require large budgets—clarity and consistency can be just as impactful

  • Tight timelines benefit from early alignment and decisive design choices

  • Designing scalable systems is especially important for small businesses in early stages

  • Collaboration and trust with the client can significantly speed up the creative process

  • Simple, well-considered design often communicates elegance more effectively than over-designed visuals
